The European Union was founded primarily to prevent Germany from ever again considering a military attack on France. Franco-German friendship has always been the guiding principle of the European Union. Yet France was always only a secondary player in the conflicts that led to the two world wars. Rather, the two world wars were primarily German-Russian conflicts. That is why it is strange that, if the European Union is supposed to play a peacemaking role, Russia, of all countries, is not part of the European Union.
During World War I, a Serb assassinated the Austrian heir to the throne, prompting Austria to declare war on Serbia. This was followed by Russia's declaration of war on Austria, which in turn led Germany to declare war on Russia. The German-Russian conflict was thus the central issue; the Western powers allied with Russia played only a secondary role.
The situation was similar during World War II. At that time, Germany sought to gain territory in the East, that is, in what were then Poland and the Soviet Union. Here, too, the conflict with the Western powers was merely a side issue.
From this perspective, Germany's friendship with Russia is the key factor in preventing another conflict of this kind from occurring. For this reason, I believe we should seriously consider forming a political union with Russia.
We are radical individualists. We detest nothing more than people demanding that we should adapt to society. In our opinion, every human being is an individual and as such owns the right to self-actualization.
In the Greater European Union we envision, everybody may have their own religious beliefs and may even speak their own language. The Internet is widely used, and everybody expresses their views without inhibitions. Traditional media are replaced by electronic magazines where everybody can publish. Moreover, school attendance and military service are voluntary.
